About Nasreen
A senior Psychotherapist with ample broad based expertise, Nasreen skillfully helps clients through use of all experiences she gained during her employment in many prestigious Ontario hospitals, Private Practice & Community HealthCare. Acute Crisis Intervention, Individual & Family Psychotherapy, Critical Incident Stress Debriefing and teaching, are her areas of competency. Nasreen provided inpatient and outpatient counselling to clients suffering from acute/chronic illnesses, situational/mental health problems, interpersonal, work related crises and more. Her commitment toward ongoing learning and teaching is coupled with her dedication to continuously excel in delivery of sound, effective & culturally sensitive care. Nasreen is known to emulate the values of loving kindness, compassion, inclusion and integrity. Restoring quality of life & general functioning toward Clients' enhanced connections, joy, resiliency and bliss are her goals for those she serves.
Qualifications & Experience
In 1989, Nasreen received her Master’s degree from University of Toronto, with specialization in Clinical Counselling & Healthcare. In 1986, she completed an Honours Bachelor's degree in Psychology & Sociology at York university and graduated with the Sociology award for the top student. In 1984, Nasreen received a Bilingual Bachelor's Degree, after been awarded 3 University Entrance Scholarships & Bursaries. During her career, Nasreen further advanced her skills with her post graduate U of T training in Marital & Couple Therapy and later, certification in Crisis Intervention & Debriefing, Trauma Informed Counselling & Complex Trauma Processing, Advanced Cognitive Behaviour & Dialectical Therapy.

Nasreen's passion lies in the treatment of individuals, families and professional caregivers' struggles with losses in the context of sudden illness, aging and family/work crises. Finding oneself alone and stuck with immense worries and feelings of low self worth, fear, helplessness, hopelessness & despair, or being triggered with new vulnerabilities stymied by stigma & limiting beliefs, are struggles well-known to her. Other challenges in respect to work related harassment, discrimination & other WSIB problems, are sensitive areas which Nasreen is very adept at assisting clients with. Nasreen's recent 5 year work experiences with victims of sexual assault, domestic violence, as well as with women seeking help around prenatal adjustment & postpartum depression, and parenting challenges, have further enriched her strong competence in working with individuals and families.
